Moka icon theme

Available for all popular Linux distributions like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Fedora, Elementary OS, OpenSUSE, Arch Linux and also for Android mobiles. It uses simple geometrical design and colours. Moka Icon design doesn’t have sharp edges. It uses rounded, smooth corners that looks great.

Numix utouch icon

Numix designs artwork for Linux desktop. Numix icon set theme has 4 different icon styles – Numix Square, Numix Circle, Numix Shine and Numix uTouch. Numix Square icon theme is paid and other three icon sets are free, available at Numix.

I personally like the Numix circle theme. Numix circle version Wraps the icons in circle. It makes your desktop look different from that all time square boxes. It covers about 2150 application icons which includes folder icons, system setting icons, symbolic icons and more.

Numix made repositories to easily install up-to-date releases of various Numix artworks.

Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS users can install the latest Numix artworks with this command on terminal:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:numix/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install numix-icon-theme-circle

Fedora users have to install fedy first and then type this command in terminal:

sudo fedy -e numix_themes


Faenza Icon Theme

Faenza is a minimal icon theme for Gnome Desktop Environment. It provides monochromatic icons for both light and dark panel and toolbar. It’s colourful square icons gives a stylish and modern look to your desktop. Four themes are included in Faenza to fit with light or dark themes/panels. It’s ./Install script lets you to choose the distribution logo and appearance of the main menu icon.

To install Faenza Download tar.gz file, extract it and paste in usr/share/icons.

Ubuntu users can download Faenza-icon-theme via a PPA repository with this terminal command:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/icons
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install faenza-icon-theme




Pacifica icon theme is inspired by the most beautiful linux distro – Elementary OS. It is modern set of icon themes. Pacifica icon theme collection don’t have their own icon sets. It is a mixture of all popular and beautiful icon theme flavours like Moka, Faenza, Faenca, Nitrux and many more.

Manual intallaton

Download Zip file and extract it. Now paste the extracted folder in usr/share/icon or home/usr/.icons.

Install in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Ubuntu 12.10, Ubuntu 13.04 and Ubuntu 13.10 users:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fsvh/pacifica-icon-theme
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pacifica-icon-theme

Install in Ubuntu 14.10 LTS and Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn

How To Enable Icon Themes

You can enable these icon themes with any tool like Gnome tweak Tool, Unity Tweak Tool or Ubuntu Tweak Tool. The easy way to enable the icon theme is to use terminal. Open terminal with Ctrl+Alt +T and simply type this command with name of icon theme:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme "Pacifica"
